What is search engine optimization (SEO)?

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a collection of techniques, strategies, and tactics for improving the visibility of a website or web presence on search engines. This includes optimizing content and HTML codes, creating backlinks, and using search engine marketing. SEO helps companies get a higher position in organic search engine results and therefore attract more visitors.

The practice of improving a web page's ranking in search results. By adapting a website's on-page SEO elements and influencing off-page SEO factors, an inbound marketer can improve a website's placement in search engine results.

There are a whole range of components to improve the search engine optimization of your website pages. Search engines look for elements such as title tags, keywords, image tags, internal link structure, and inbound links — and these are just a few of them. Search engines also consider the structure and design of the site, visitor behavior, and other external factors to determine how high your website should rank in search engine results pages.
